Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has named sophomore pitcher Madelynn Orosz (Seymour, CT/Nonnewaug) the Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week for the period ending May 4, 2025.
Orosz delivered a dominant performance in the circle over the weekend, earning two wins in three appearances while allowing just two runs on six hits across 11.0 innings pitched. In her two starts, she threw 10.0 innings, surrendering only two runs on four hits and striking out six. She opened the weekend with a strong outing in an 11-2 win over VTSU-Johnson, allowing two runs on three hits with six strikeouts over 5.0 innings. She also came on in relief in a 12-4 win, giving up just two hits in one inning of work. Her weekend was capped by a stellar performance on Sunday, when she tossed a one-hit shutout in an 8-0 victory to improve to 9-2 on the season, while also contributing at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored.
