With the cancellation of all spring sports due to COVID-19, leading to the lack of Fighting Tiger Athletes-of-the-week; The Fighting Tiger Athletic Department has decided revisit some of our previous “Athlete’s-of-the-Week” to honor them for their accomplishments.
The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that junior Nick Thomas, Scotia, N.Y., Scotia-Glenville High School/Hudson Valley Community College, a member of the men’s baseball team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The junior first baseman/outfielder established a new program record for home runs with six in only 13 games played during the abbreviated season.
For the season the Scotia-Glenville High School alumnus is batted .500 going 21-for-42 at the plate to date including: five doubles, two triple, six home runs, 20 runs scored and 14 RBI along with 11 walks compile an on base percentage of .625 and a slugging percentage of 1.125 in only 13 appearances.
