With the cancellation of all spring sports due to COVID-19, leading to the lack of Fighting Tiger Athletes-of-the-week; The Fighting Tiger Athletic Department has decided revisit some of our previous “Athlete’s-of-the-Week” to honor them for their accomplishments.
Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill department of Sport & Exercise announced today that sophomore Jared Craw, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School/Hudson Valley Community College, a member of the men’s cross country and track & field teams has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
Craw had a major impact on the cross country program. The talented sophomore defeated the field at the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championships to claim NEAC Men’s Runner-of-the-Year honors and a spot on the All-NEAC First Team.
As a member of the indoor track and field team, he made an immediate impact on the program. At the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational hosted by Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y., Craw set a new personal of 8:50.72 in the 3000-meter run narrowly missing the program record by 1:57.04.
