Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team won one-of-four contests at the 2014 SUNY Cobleskill Invitational hosted by the Fighting Tigers on Friday October 24 and Saturday October 25 at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the weekend's results the Orange & Black are currently 11-20 overall on the season.

On Friday, Cobleskill opened the event by ending an 11-match losing streak by defeating Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) 3-2 by set scores of 27-25, 25-22, 22-25, 20-25 and 15-13 before losing to Rutgers University-Newark 3-0 by set scores of 25-22, 25-20 and 25-13. Saturday saw the Fighting Tigers drop a 3-0 decision to King's College by set scores of 25-21, 25-13 and 25-14 prior to losing 3-0 to SUNY IT by scores of 25-15, 25-10 and 25-8.

Junior middle hitter Melissa Spears, East Fishkill, N.Y., John Jay High School, averaged 2.0 kills and 1.5 digs per contest in 14 sets played in over the weekend.
The Fighting Tigers will close out the 2014 season on Tuesday October 28 when they host the Trailblazers of MCLA in non-league action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
