Clinton, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team dropped a hard fought 68-60 decision to host Hamilton College in the opening round of the 2015 Hamilton College Tournament on Saturday evening. The loss drops the visiting Fighting Tigers to 0-5 overall on the season while the Continentals improve to 3-1 on the campaign.
Cobleskill trailed at the half 31-30 as the taller Continentals out rebounded the visitors 27-to-11 in the stanza. The Fighting Tigers made up for the rebounding discrepancy by generating 11 turnovers as sophomore swingman
Frank D'Esti, Vestal, N.Y., Vestal High School/Broome Community College, came up with five steals and 11 points to keep the Orange & Black in the contest.
The second half was a back-and-forth affair with each team leading by as many as six points until with the scored tied at 51-51 with 6:42 remaining in regulation the Continentals  went on a nine-to-two run to take a 60-53 lead from which they would never look back.
The Orange & Black were led in scoring by
Frank D'Esti who finished with 13 points to go three, assists, three rebounds and five steals on the evening while junior guard
Quincey Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Potomac State College, who also scored 13 points to go with five assists and four rebounds on the night.
The Fighting Tigers will next meet Hartwick College in the tournament's consolation game on Sunday afternoon, November 29
th, with tip-off at 1:00 p.m.
