Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team could not hold a seven point halftime advantage on their way to a heartbreaking 60-56 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) home loss to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks on Sunday afternoon at the Iorio Gymnasium. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-19 overall including a 1-15 record in conference play while Berks improves to 2-19 overall and 2-15 in league action.
The Fighting Tigers were led by sophomore forward
Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Raven-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, who scored a team high 18 points while taking down a game high of 22 rebounds on the afternoon. The Orange & Black also received strong play from junior
Cassie Beaver, Sherburne, N.Y., Sherburne-Earlville High School, who scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds and from senior guard
Loren McKeon, Staatsburg, N.Y., F.D. Roosevelt High School, who scored eight points to go with eight rebounds in the contest.
Cobleskill will return to action on Friday February 20 when the team plays host to NEAC rival Wells College beginning at 5:00 p.m. Â
