Morrisville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team opened the 2015 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) over the weekend at the league's initial crossover weekend, hosted by Morrisville State College with a 1-2 conference record to go with a 3-8 overall mark.
On Saturday afternoon the Fighting Tigers lost to the College of Saint Elizabeth 3-0 by set scores of 25-22, 26-24 and 25-13 then came back in the evening to defeat Penn State Abington 3-1 by set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 23-25 and 25-21. Cobleskill then concluded the event on Sunday morning by falling to Bryn Athyn College 3-0 by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-10.
Freshman middle hitter
Emilie Reimer, Mattituck, N.Y., Mattituck High School, was a major factor at the event averaging 1.3 kills, 1.3 digs and 1.0 assists per game in 10 sets played while senior hitter
Brandi Persico, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, averaged 1.5 kills and 1.5 digs. Junior outside hitter
Kasey Williams, Wallkill, N.Y., Wallkill High School/Dutchess Community College, was also a factor for Cobleskill averaging 1.0 kills and 3.3 digs per set on the weekend.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Tuesday September 22
nd when they travel to Oneonta, N.Y. to meet the Hawks of Hartwick College in non-conference action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
