Box Score Poultney, Vt.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball ended a two-game losing streak by posting a hard fought 3-1 road victory over the Eagles of Green Mountain College on Thursday evening in non-conference play by set scores of: 25-14, 20-25, 25-19 and 25-19. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 4-9 overall on the campaign while Green Mountain falls to 0-10 on the season.
Freshman middle hitter
Emilie Reimer, Mattituck, N.Y., Mattituck High School, continued to be a force at the net for Cobleskill as the talented frosh recorded a match high of 13 kills to go with two service aces on the evening while sophomore outside hitter
Bailie Roberts, Fort Edward, N.Y., Fort Edward High School, notched nine kills along with three digs and a pair of service aces in the win.
The visiting New Yorkers also received solid play from the setter position where sophomore
Sarah Ruggles, Guilderland, N.Y., Guilderland High School, had 12 assists and seven digs and freshman
Michelle Urkevich, Troy, N.Y., Tamarac High School, chipped in 12 assists and five digs on the night.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action over the weekend when they travel to Marcy, N.Y. to resume North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action at the conference's second NEAC Crossover Weekend of the season hosted by the Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute. On Saturday Cobleskill will meet the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks at 2:00 p.m. before facing the blank of Lancaster Bible College at 4:00 p.m. The Orange & Black will then conclude the weekend on Sunday when they face the Wildcats of Penn College at 11:00 a.m.
