Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team stepped back into North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play over the weekend at the league's second crossover weekend of the season hosted by the Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute. The Fighting Tigers won one-of-three matches at the event and improved to 2-4 in conference play to go with a 5-11 overall mark.
On Saturday afternoon the Fighting Tigers lost to the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks 3-0 by set scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-15 then dropped a decision to the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College 3-0 by set scores of 27-25, 26-24 and 25-13. Cobleskill then concluded the weekend on Sunday by downing the Wildcats of Penn College 3-0 by scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-13.
Freshman middle hitter
Emilie Reimer, Mattituck, N.Y., Mattituck High School, was a once again a major factor at the event for Cobleskill averaging 2.3 kills, 2.5 digs and 0.56 blocks per set while junior outside hitter
Kasey Williams, Wallkill, N.Y., Wallkill High School/Dutchess Community College, was also a factor averaging 1.3 kills and 2.8 digs per set on the weekend. Cobleskill also received solid play from senior hitter
Raven Worthington, Owego, N.Y., Tioga High School, who averaged 1.3 kills and 3.2 digs per set.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Wednesday September 30
th when they travel to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. to meet the Raptors of Bard College in non-conference action beginning at 7:00 p.m.
