Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of an 88-75 score at Cazenovia College on Wednesday evening in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 1-14 overall including a 1-6 mark in league play while the Wildcats improve to 5-9 overall with a 3-3 record in the NEAC.
The host Wildcats jumped all over the Fighting Tigers early and often in the contest as the Cobleskill defense had little in the way of answers to the home team's potent offense. For the game Cazenovia connected on 29-of-55, field goal attempts, 52.7%, including 7-of-17, 41.2%, from three-point range. The Wildcats also dominated the backboards throughout the game posting a 46-to-22 advantage on the glass.
Junior guard
Quincey Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y., Lafayette High School/Potomac State College, led the Orange & Black in scoring with 19 points to go with six steals and a pair of assists while junior swingman
Frank D'Esti, Vestal, N.Y., Vestal High School/Broome Community College, tallied 17 points on the evening. Sophomore guard
Malik Chambers, West Point, N.Y., James I. O'Neil High School, was also continued his strong play with 14 points, four assists and six steals in the contest.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday January 23
rd when they travel to Williamsport, Pa. to face the Wildcats of Penn College beginning at 1:00 p.m.
