Cobleskill, N.Y.: One day after suffering a devastating upset loss to Penn College in league action, the SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team resumed their quest for a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play-off spot by pounding the visiting Eagles of The College of Saint Elizabeth by an 11-0 margin. The victory levels the Fighting Tigers' overall record at 6-6-2 on the year and improves their conference mark to 4-4-2 while the loss drops the Eagles to 1-11 overall and 0-8 in NEAC play.
The Fighting Tigers held a 4-0 advantage at the end of the first half before exploding for seven second half goals to put the contest out of reach. Cobleskill dominated all facets of the game outshooting their guests 38-to-0 on the afternoon.
In total, nine different Cobleskill players found the back of the net on the afternoon led by freshman forward
Emile Vwaza, Manhattan, N.Y., Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School, who had a pair of goals and two assists in the victory and by freshman midfielder
Kalifala Konneh, Bronx, N.Y., Fredrick Douglas Academy, who also posted a pair of goals. Junior forward
David Vosatka, Schenevus, N.Y., Schenevus High School, scored a goal and had an assist in the victory for the home team as did freshman midfielder
Mame Diba, Manhattan, N.Y., Liberty High School.
The Orange & Black will continue their NEAC play-off hunt on Saturday October 22
nd when they host the Phoenix of Wilson College in conference play with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Fighting Tigers soccer/lax complex.
