Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team lost three-of-four contests to open the 2016 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) at the NEAC's season opening North East/South Crossover Weekend hosted by the Fighting Tigers on Saturday September 17
th and Sunday September 18
th. After the weekend of action Cobleskill moves to 5-5 overall including a 1-3 mark in league play.
The Orange & Black opened the event by losing on Saturday afternoon to the Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute 3-0 by set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-13 before defeating the Phoenix of Wilson College 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-22.
The Fighting Tigers then dropped a pair of matches on Sunday losing 3-0 to Gallaudet University Bison by margins of 25-7, 25-9 and 25-15 and to Morrisville State College Mustangs by scores of 25-14, 25-10 and 25-23.
Freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist
Brittany Boyce, Rotterdam, N.Y., Mohonasen High School, averaged 1.4 kills and 1.1 digs per contest in 11 set appearances over the weekend versus NEAC opponents.
Cobleskill will next be in action when they host Southern Vermont College on Tuesday September 20
th with first serve slated for 7:00 p.m. Â
