Fourth Quarter Offensive Struggles Hurt Fighting Tigers at Keuk on Sunday

Keuka Park, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team closed out their annual western New York weekend road trip by dropping a 61-50 decision to the Wolves Keuka College in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 6-6 overall on the year including a 2-4 mark in NEAC play while Keuka improves to 5-5 overall with a 3-4 record versus league opponents.

After trailing throughout; the contest the Fighting Tigers stormed back from an early fourth quarter seven point deficit to cut the Keuka lead to 48-46 on a lay-up by freshman guard Addy Lawson, Milford, N.Y., Milford High School, with 7:01 remaining in regulation.

With the tide shifting towards the visitors, the Wolves went on a 9-0 run over the next five minutes to go up 57-46 with 1:55 left to play to secure the win. During the run the Fighting Tigers went cold from the floor going 0-for-8 from the field and committing a pair of turnovers.

Addy Lawson led the Orange & Black in scoring with 13 points to go with four rebounds and four steals while senior forward Shelby Preston, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, turned in a solid all-around effort with 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a pair of blocked shots.
