Chambersburg, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team found themselves in a battle on Sunday afternoon with the host Phoenix of Wilson College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contest eventually won by Wilson by a 2-1 margin. The loss drops Cobleskill to 0-15 overall on the year with a 0-7 mark in conference action while Wilson improves to 1-14 overall with a 1-6 NEAC record.
Trailing 2-0 in the second half the Fighting Tigers cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 72
nd minute when freshman defender
Caroline Wetsel, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, unleased a rocket from the right side of the box which found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
However that was as close as the Orange & Black would get on the day despite an outstanding effort in net from sophomore goalie
Samantha Springstead, Staten Island, N.Y., Notre Dame Academy, who collected 16 saves on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Tuesday October 24
th when they host the Wildcats of Cazenovia College in Cobleskill's final home game of the season with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.
