Utica, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer teamed dropped a 4-1 decision over New Paltz College in the opening game of the 2017 Utica College Invitational Tournament on Saturday in a game played at Utica College's Charles A. Gaetano Stadium. With the blank the Fighting Tigers move to 0-3 overall on the year while the Hawks are now 2-2 overall on the season to date.
The Fighting Tigers scored the game's first goal in the eighth minute when sophomore forward
Emile Vwaza, Manhattan, N.Y., Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis High School, scored off a long pass from sophomore defender
Corey Roseboom, Westford, N.Y. , Schenevus Central High School, to make the score 1-0.
However from that point on the Hawk defense stiffened allowing the Orange & Black only six shots and three corner kicks on the afternoon while taking 15 shots to go with five corners of their own.
Cobleskill will close out the tournament on Sunday afternoon when they face the Saints of the College of New Rochelle at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 1:30 pm.
