Chicopee, Mass: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team took to the road on Monday evening to take a 65-53 decision from the host Blazers of Elms College in non-conference action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 7-5 overall on the year while the Blazers fall to 1-8 overall.
Trailing 42-40 going into the fourth quarter Cobleskill outscored the home standing Blazers 25-10 to secure the victory as the sophomore tandem of guard
Addy Lawson, Cooperstown, N.Y., Milford High School, and guard
Shaliyah Graham, Bronx, N.Y., Martin Luther King High School, combined for 15 points to put the contest out of reach.
Graham finished the evening with a team high 17 points to go with nine rebounds while Lawson continued her year-long habit of filling the stat column with 15 points, nine rebounds, seven steals and five assists on the evening. The Orange & Black also received strong inside play from sophomore forward
Stacey Sprague, Grand Gorge, N.Y., Roxbury High School, who tallied 16 points and nine rebounds in the win.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday January 10
th when they host the Wildcats of SUNY Poly in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) action beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Fighting Tigers Iorio Gymnasium.
