Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team lost a hard hitting 4-2 decision on Tuesday afternoon to the visiting Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) at the Soccer/Lax Complex. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 7-8 overall with a 4-3 mark in league play while the Wildcats improve to 5-6-3 overall on the year with a 4-4 mark in NEAC action.
With the game tied at 2-2 the Wildcats scored the eventual game winner in in the 60
th minute of play when senior forward Benjamin Alonge, Elmont, N.Y., Elmont High School, blasted home a penalty kick for his third goal of the afternoon to give the visitors from Utica a 3-2 lead from which they never looked back.
The Fighting Tigers received first half goals from junior midfielder
Mame Amar, Manhattan, N.Y., Liberty High School, and junior midfielder Boubacare Doucoure, Manhattan, N.Y., John F. Kennedy, to go into the half tied at 2-2. However despite outshooting the Wildcats 22-to-16 and holding a 10-to-2 advantage in corner kicks Cobleskill could never capitalize on their advantages.
