Williamstown, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team split a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests hosted at a league crossover event hosted by the Wildcats of Penn College with the Nittany Lions of Penn State Berks on Saturday. The Fighting Tigers opened the event by ending an 11-game losing streak by defeating the host Wildcats of Penn College 3-0 by set scores of: 25-20, 25-23 and 25-14 then lost a 3-0 decision to the Nittany Lions by set scores of: 25-11, 25-14 and 26-24. With the split the Fighting Tigers are now currently 2-15 overall on the season including a 1-5 record in NEAC action.
In their victory the Fighting Tigers received a seven kill, 12 dig, four service ace effort from junior right side hitter
Regan Hubner, Miller Place, N.Y., Â Rocky Point High School, while senior setter
Mackenzie Holbert, Sauquoit, N.Y., New Hartford/Herkimer Community College, added nine assists, six service aces, six digs and a pair of kills in the match.
Against the Nittany Lions, the Orange & Black were led by junior outside hitter
Katerina Weingarten, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, who had six kills and a pair of digs after a first match which saw her notch four kills.
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday October 13
th when they travel to Cazenovia, N.Y. for an NEAC solo match versus the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College with first serve at 1:00 p.m.Â
