Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball opened their 2018-19 campaign at home on Thursday evening in impressive fashion by defeating visiting Southern Vermont College by a 65-58 margin in non-conference action at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the win the Fighting Tigers open the year at 1-0 while the Mountaineers start the season at 0-1.
Trailing 48-43 heading into the fourth quarter the Fighting Tigers rallied to outscore the visitors 22-10 as junior point guard
Addy Lawson, Milford, N.Y., Milford High School, tallied 11 points and an assist to pace the Orange & Black to the win. For the evening the Milford, N.Y. native scored 14 points, going 4-for-7 from three-point range, grabbed five rebounds, made three steals and passed out two assists.
The Fighting Tigers also received strong outings from: sophomore guard
Monique Britton, Westerlo, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, with 13 points, six rebounds and four steals, junior guardÂ
Liyah Graham, Bronx, N.Y., Martin Luther King High School, with seven points, a team high 10 rebounds and four assists while junior center
