Morristown, N.J.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's baseball team closed their weekend road trip by dropping a pair of games to the Cyclones of Centenary University of New Jersey in non-league action by scores of 6-2 and 7-4 in contests played at the Morristown-Beard School. With the losses the Fighting Tigers fall to 1-11 overall while the Cyclones improve to 6-4 with the sweep.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers committed five errors which led to four unearned runs spoiling a solid pitching effort form freshman right southpaw
Devin Lewis, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, who went six inning allowing only three earned runs.
At the plate junior center fielder
Jordyn Schwark, Kingston, N.Y., Kingston High School/SUNY Adirondack, was 1-for-2 with a double and a run batted in while freshman third baseman
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, scored both of the team's runs going 1-for-1 with a walk and being hit by a pitch.
In the second game, Fighting Tiger pitchers hurt themselves with 14 walks with the defense once again struggling committing five errors in the contest leading to four unearned runs.
Offensively Cobleskill once again received a strong effort from third baseman
Eddy Garcia who went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI while freshman second baseman
Corey Tingo, Selden, N.Y., Newfield High School, went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI.
The Fighting Tigers are scheduled to return to action on Thursday April 5 when they travel to Scranton, Pa. for a pair of games versus the Pacers of Marywood University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
