Morrisville, N.Y.: In a meeting between the top two teams in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) North Division the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team could not contain the hot shooting Mustangs of Morrisville State on Wednesday evening as the Mustangs easily outdistanced the Fighting Tigers by a 103-77 margin. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 11-7 overall including a 6-3 record in NEAC play while the Mustangs now have a 16-3 overall record including a 10-0 record in conference play.
After an evenly played first half that saw them trail by only three-points at 47-44 the Fighting Tigers fell prey in the second half to a Morrisville offensive explosion that saw the home team outscore their guests 53-33 on the strength of a 36-for-64 (56.3%) shooting effort from the field which included a 15-of-32 (46.9%) performance from behind the three-point line and a 16-for-21 (76.2%) showing at the free throw line.

Anthony McNeil, Gresham, S.C., Union-Endicott High School/SUNY Broome, scored a team high of 20 points to go with five rebounds for Cobleskill while junior guard
Daniel Owens, Albany, N.Y., Christian Brothers Academy/Herkimer Community College, added a season high of 19 points along with five assists and three rebounds in a reserve role. Junior swingman
Antwan Claxton, Bronx, N.Y., Taft High School, also posted solid numbers for the visitors with 17 points and eight rebounds on the night.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday February 2
nd when they travel to Williamsport, N.Y. to meet the Wildcats of Penn College in league action with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Â
