Rochester, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team closed out the 2019 Mike Daley Memorial Tournament by losing to Hilbert College in the event's consolation game by a 70-63 margin. With the loss the Fighting Tigers are currently 1-3 overall on the year while the Hawks now move to 2-2 overall on the year.
The Fighting Tigers trailed by 11 points at 53-42 with 8:14 remaining to play when they went on a 16-to-3 run to take a 58-56 lead with 4:34 left in regulation on a three-point field goal by senior guard
Erica Cabrera, Â Middletown, N.Y., Burke Catholic High School, as part of a run keyed by junior guard
Nylasia Sutton, Queens, N.Y., Lansingburgh High School/Herkimer Community College, who scored eight points and passed out an assist during the run.
However from that point on Hilbert outscored the Fighting Tigers by a 14-5 margin to secure the victory.
Nylasia Sutton enjoyed a stellar game with a game high of 26 points and five rebounds while
Erica Cabrera hit for nine points, to go with four assists, four rebounds and two steals on the afternoon. Â
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday November 23
rd when they travel to New York, N.Y. to face the host Baruch College Bearcats for a non-league contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
