Cobleskill, N.Y.: In an attempt to dodge inclement weather heading for the region, the SUNY Cobleskill and Gallaudet University baseball teams started their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) doubleheader at 9:00 a.m. on Friday at Fighting Tiger Field with the visiting Bison sweeping the Fighting Tigers by scores of 5-3 and 7-4. With the losses the Fighting Tigers are now currently 11-15 overall including a 6-5 record in NEAC action while the Bison are currently 9-23 with a 2-9 conference mark.
In the opener, the Fighting Tigers trailed going into the bottom of the seventh 3-2 when sophomore shortstop
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, singled home
Mitchell Holmes, Dartmouth, Mass., Bristol County Agricultural High School, who had led-off the inning with a double to send the game into extra innings.
However the Bison scored a pair of runs in the top of the eighth inning to secure the victory as the Fighting Tigers went out in order in the bottom of the extra frame.
Cobleskill starting pitcher
Daniel Wade, Jefferson, N.Y., Jefferson High School, battled through seven innings allowing three earned runs on six hits to get a no decision.
Offensively for the Orange & Black
Eddy Garcia was 1-for-3 with a pair of stolen bases and a RBI while
Mitchell Holmes was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a RBI.
In the nightcap Cobleskill held a 4-2 lead going into the top of the seventh inning when four Fighting Tiger errors allowed the Bison to stampede out to a 7-4 lead from which they would not look back.

Eddy Garcia had a strong outing at the plate going 3-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base while senior first baseman
Nate Carinci, Oneida, N.Y., Oneida High School/Jefferson Community College, went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and two RBI.
The two teams will close out their weekend series on Saturday afternoon when the Fighting Tigers and Bison meet at Fighting Tiger Field for a NEAC solo contest beginning at 3:00 p.m.
