Utica, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team posted a 1-1 double overtime tie with the host Pioneers of Utica College at the 2019 Utica College Invitational on Sunday. With the tie the Fighting Tigers move to 2-1-1 overall on the year while the Pioneers also move to 2-1-1 on the season.
The contest was a physical affair hard hitting affair from the opening kick-off with the two teams combining for 24 fouls, 12 yellow cards and a red card which led to a scoreless contest through the first 84 minutes of action.

Chris Gardener, Hudson, N.Y., Hudson High School, scored on a penalty kick to give the visitors a 1-0 lead and an apparent path to the victory.

th minute of play when Pioneer senior forward Thomas Muller, Camillus, N.Y., Bishop Ludden High School, scored off a cross from junior midfielder Patrick Hynes, Glenmont, N.Y., Bethlehem High School, to even the game and eventually send it into the extra sessions.

Rashawn Best, Brooklyn, N.Y., Martin Luther King High School, was exceptional in net throughout the game making seven saves on the afternoon along with several exceptional plays on restarts to preserve the tie.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Wednesday September 11
th when they travel to Old Westbury, N.Y. for a non-league game versus the Panthers of SUNY Old Westbury with kick-off slated for 4:00 p.m.
