Fighting Tiger Men's Hoopsters Drop 76-52 Decision to SUNY Delhi on Sunday

Cobleskill Men's Basketball Loses Non-Conference Decision to Broncos 76-52

Cobleskill, N.Y.:  One of the oldest rivalries in New York State College basketball history resumed on Sunday afternoon when the SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team fell to the visiting Broncos of SUNY Delhi 76-52 at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers are now 10-4 overall on the campaign while the Broncos are currently 13-7 on the year to date.

Playing back-to-back and trying to overcome a nearly six-hour ride home on Saturday evening from Aurora, N.Y.; the Fighting Tigers suffered through a slow start trailing 32-16 at halftime as the Broncos pounded the boards for a 56-31 advantage leading to a second chance point margin favoring the visitors by a 40-22 tally. The normally efficient Cobleskill offense also struggled throughout the contest connecting on only 18-of-57, 31.6%, from the field including only 5-of-25 from three-point range, 20.0%, along with an 11-for-22, 50.0%, effort from the charity stripe on the day.

The Fighting Tigers were led in scoring by junior forward James Conteh, Queens, N.Y., The Patrick School/SUNY Sullivan, who tallied 21 points on the afternoon.

Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday January 22nd when they return to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) hosting the Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute for a men's/women's doubleheader with the men tipping off at 5:00 p.m. followed by the women at 7:00 p.m.
