SUNY COBLESKILL VOLLEYBALL CLOSES NAC REGULAR SEASON AT SUNY DELHI TRIANGULAR MEET

Delhi, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball concluded their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) regular season on Sunday at league triangular meet hosted by the Broncos of SUNY Delhi with the Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
Cobleskill split the day's festivities dropping their morning match to the host Broncos 3-1 by set scores of 15-25, 25-21, 12-25 and 21-25 before taking their afternoon contest from the Wildcats 3-2 by scores of 26-24, 23-25, 17-25, 25-12 and 17-15. With the split the team moves to 9-12 overall including a 4-4 record versus NAC Western Division opponents. 

The Fighting Tigers opened the event by dropping a 3-1 decision to the host Broncos despite seven kills and 13 digs from sophomore outside hitter Mackenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, and a 21 assist, nine dig, two kill effort from senior setter Maleigha Ellithorpe, Cazenovia, N.Y., Cazenovia High School/Onondaga Community College.

In the day's final match, the Orange & Black rallied from a 12-8 deficit in the fifth set to post a 17-15 victory staving off match point to end a 13-match losing streak to the Wildcats dating back to September 13, 2011.

Once again Mackenzie Larson led the way to the victory with 12 kills to go with 16 digs and five service aces while Maleigha Ellithorpe had 30 assists along with 12 digs and a pair of kills.  

With the league season concluded the Fighting Tigers will await the seedings and host site for the 2021 NAC Championship Tournament to be conducted on Saturday October 30 and 31.

Cobleskill will conclude the home portion of their schedule on Tuesday October 26 when they host the Trailblazers of MCLA prior to traveling to Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. on Wednesday October 27 to meet the Raptors of Bard College to close out the regular season.
