SUNY Cobleskill Women's Basketball Out Claws Bryant & Stratton College 76-69

Fighting Tigers Post 76-69 Win Over Bryant & Stratton College 76-69


Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team reached the .500 mark on Wednesday evening posting a hard fought 76-69 victory over the visiting Bobcats of Brant & Stratton College of Albany in non-conference action at the Iorio Gymnasium. With the victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 5-5 overall on the season while the Bobcats fall to 2-6 on the year.

The Fighting Tigers used their entire roster to secure the win as Cobleskill used 10 players to post a 32-0 advantage in points in bench scoring along with 20 offensive rebounds which led to 16 second chance points to put the game in the win column for the home team.

First-year guard Annie Canales, North Adams, Mass., Hoosac Valley High School, scored a team high 21 points to go with six rebounds while sophomore forward Anna Post, Bovina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, pounded the paint for 13 rebounds and eight rebounds on the night.

Off the bench the Fighting Tigers received strong efforts from the quartet of  reserves as: first-year guard Eva Norris, Wolcott, N.Y., North Rose-Wolcott High School, scored 11 points, grabbed two rebounds and passed out two assists, junior guard/forward Megan Hughes, Warrensburg, N.Y., Warrensburg High School, tallied eight points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals, sophomore forward Hannah Cater, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, scored six points, took down six rebounds and passed out two assists and from senior guard/forward Kelsey Brown, Scotia, N.Y., Scotia-Glenville High School, who scored five points to go with six assists and four rebounds.

Cobleskill will return to NAC play over the weekend when they host the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton on Friday December 10 with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. prior to hosting the Badgers of Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday afternoon with tip-off beginning at 3:00 p.m.
