Canton, N.Y.: Operating under an NBA-like mandated playing schedule, due to COVID-19 protocols, the SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team posted their second win over the host Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in a 24-hour period this time beating the Roos on their home floor by a 64-53 margin. With the win the Fighting Tigers improve to 2-0 on the season while the Kangaroos are now 0-2 on the year. 

Trailing 37-36 with 4:34 remaining in the third quarter the Fighting Tigers went on a 14-3 run to close out the period highlighted by a last second corner three-pointer by senior forward Monique Britton, Westerlo, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, which game the Orange & Black a 51-40 advantage from which the visitors never looked back.

Cobleskill was led in scoring by senior point guard Nylasia Sutton, Queens, N.Y., Lansingburgh High School/Herkimer Community College, who tallied 14 points to go with four rebounds and a pair of assists while sophomore forward Anna Post, Bovina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, had 12 points to go with six rebounds on the evening.

Sophomore guard Inasia Barham, Mount Vernon, N.Y., Monsignor Scanlan & Francis Lewis High School, played a major role in the win with eight points, seven steals and six rebounds with Monique Britton scoring six points and passing out two assists in the win.

The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday March 24 when they travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for a meeting with the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College with tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
