Fighting Tiger Vollleyball Drops Two Matches to SUNY Poly to Close Season

SUNY Cobleskill Volleyball Falls Twice to SUNY Poly to Close 2021 Season


Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team closed out their abbreviated 2021season on Friday evening by dropping a pair of matches to the visiting Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute losing the first match 3-1 by set scores of 25-19, 26-28, 10-25, and 18-25 then falling in the second match by a 3-0 margin by set scores of 27-25, 25-21 and 25-23. With the losses the Fighting Tigers close the season with a 2-4 record on the year while SUNY Poly closes the season at 4-2 overall.  

In the opening match Fighting Tiger freshman outside hitter MacKenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, was outstanding in defeat with 15 kills, 15 digs along with two service aces while sophomore outside hitter Samantha Grant, Galway, N.Y., Galway High School, pounded out 10 kills to go with four digs. 

In the finale, MacKenzie Larson once again was impressive with 13 kills, 12 digs and a service aces while sophomore offside hitter Jillian Mueller, Parish, N.Y., Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School, chipped in nine kills on the evening.  
The Orange & Black also received a strong second game effort from freshman libero Victoria O'Bar, Middlebury, Conn., Nonnewaug High School, who had 19 digs, three service aces and a pair of kills in the match.
