Fighting Tiger Volleyball Lose Hard Fought 3-2 NAC Road Loss to Cazenovia College

Big Efforts from Miranda and Larson Not Enough for Fighting Tiger Volleyball on Sunday at Cazenovia

Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's volleyball team suffered a hard fought 3-2 road loss to the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College on Sunday afternoon by set scores of 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18 and 12-15 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-11 overall on the season with a 1-2 record in league play while the Wildcats are now 6-13 overall including a 2-2 mark in NAC contests.

In a match that saw that saw both teams rally from behind on several occasions it was the Wildcats that broke through in the deciding fifth set rallying from a late 12-10 deficit to score the contest last five points to secure the victory.

Once again, the combination of junior outside hitter Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua North High School, with a team high of 11 kills and junior outside hitter Mackenzie Larson, Winterset, Iowa, Winterset High School, who went for 10 kills, 12 digs and five service aces did the bulk of the damage for Cobleskill. Junior setter Kasey Orlowski, Hewitt, N.J., Milford High School, was also a factor in the match with 20 assists and five digs on the afternoon.

The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday October 6 when they travel to Longmeadow, Mass. for a non-league meeting with the Wildcats of Bay Path College with first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
