Oneonta, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball fell to SUNY Oneonta 66-53 on Thursday night at the Dewar Arena in Oneonta.
Freshman
Emily Satterday (Latham, NY/Shaker) posted a strong game for the Tigers finishing with her fourth consecutive double-double with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.Â
Talia Washington (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) finished with a game-high 15 points and dished out four assists.
Despite the loss, the Tigers had four scorers in double figures for the night.
Jordan Finch (East Meredith/South Kortright) ended with 10 points and 6 rebounds and
Annie Canales (North Adams, Mass/Hoosac Valley) added 10 points and 4 rebounds.Â
Annie Canales started off the night with the first basket of the game off of a Satterday assist.  The Red Dragons jumped out to an early 8-4 lead before the Tigers battled back and took the lead 10-9 with 1:34 left in the first quarter after a pair of made free throws from
Jordan Finch. The Tigers entered the first break with a 14-10 lead over Oneonta.
Finch and Canales led Cobleskill with four point each in the first quarter. Â The Tigers showed off great ball movement and racked up four assists.
The Red Dragons started the second quarter hot and took an early 19-14 lead with 7:08 to play. Back-to-back
Talia Washington three pointers brought the 9-0 run to a halt and the score to 23-20 at the 4:26 mark. Oneonta pressed on took a 37-26 lead into the half.
Washington led all scorers at the half with 11 points on 4-5 shooting and 3-3 from three-point range. The Tigers shot 27.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from downtown.
Canales drained a three pointer to get things going in the second half. Both teams traded baskets back and forth for most of the quarter. The game stood at 41-32 at the 3:40 mark after a made free throw by Satterday.Â
Keyara Maxwell (Middletown, NY/Middletown) knocked down a three pointer to bring the Tigers within seven points, 44-37. Â The Tigers kept battling and only trailed 46-39 after a made layup by Finch with 10 seconds left.
Then Oneonta jumped out to a 8-0 run to push their lead to 54-39 at the 8:34 mark.  The Tigers continued to push and chipped away at the lead and brought it to 58-51 with 2:26 left in the game. However, the Red Dragons scored five unanswered points and closed out the game with a 66-53 win.
Cobleskill (1-3) shot just 26.2 percent (17-65) from the field and 30 percent from deep (6-20). Oneonta (2-2) held a slim rebounding advantage 54-51 over the Tigers. The Tigers scored three more fastbreak points than the Red Dragons and both benches scored 23 points.
Cobleskill will host Baruch College on Saturday, November 19
th, at 3:30 pm at the Iorio Gymnasium.
