Fighting Tiger Men's Basketball Closes Season with 87-68 Loss to SUNY Canton in NAC Play-offs

SUNY Cobleskill Men's Basketball Closes Season with 87-68 to Canton Kangaroos


Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team ended their season on Tuesday evening dropping a 87-68 decision to the host Kangaroos of SUNY Canton in the opening round of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Tournament's first round. With the loss the Fighting Tigers close the campaign with a 3-20 overall record while the Kangaroos advance to the league's western division semifinals with a 13-11 overall mark.

Canton used a pronounced size advantage to successfully attack the paint throughout the contest converting on 33-of-70, 47.1%, of their field goal attempts but more importantly getting to the free throw line consistently where they converted on 15-of-18, 83.3%, of their attempts. The home team also held a 49-37 advantage on the backboards to secure the victory.

The Fighting Tigers received strong play from their forwards throughout the contest as junior Justin Feldman, Chester, N.Y., Chester High School/Orange Community College, had 21 points, six rebounds and four assists and junior Naphtali Regilus, Roselle, N.J., Abraham Clack High School/Essex Community College, had 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Senior forward Juwan Malone, Brooklyn, N.Y., Brooklyn Collegiate High School/Fulton-Montgomery Community College, was also a factor in the game closing out his Cobleskill career with nine points, nine rebounds and three steals while junior swingman Kevin Cadet, Roselle, N.J., Roselle Park High School, added eight points, five rebounds and a pair of blocked shots on the evening.
