Davenport, Florida: In a battle between the Fighting Scots of The College of Wooster of Ohio and the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers it was the Fighting Scotts that out fought the competition to post the win by a 10-3 score in Cobleskill's final day at the 2022 RussMatt College Invitational. With the defeat Cobleskill closes their spring break road trip with a 6-9 overall record while Wooster is now 7-4 overall on the season to date.

The Fighting Scotts held a 2-1 advantage going into the fourth inning when they scored three runs followed by a run in the fifth and four runs in the seventh to put the game away. The Wooster offense pounded out 12 hits on the day and swiped four bases to post the victory.

The Fighting Tigers were led on offence by senior designated hitter Samuel Gutierrez, Bayside, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, who went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI while senior shortstop Eddy Garcia, World View High School, closed out the road trip going 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Cobleskill is scheduled to next be in action on Wednesday March 30 when they travel to Oswego, N.Y. for a pair of games against Oswego State University with the first pitch scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
