New Paltz, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team stepped out of league action on Wednesday afternoon demonstrating some serious offensive muscle in taking a 16-5 decision from the host Hawks of SUNY New Paltz at Loren Campbell Memorial Field to run their current winning streak to seven games. With the victory the Fighting Tigers move to 14-11 overall on the year while the Hawks are now 7-13 on the season to date.
Leading 4-3 after six innings the Fighting Tigers out scored their hosts from the State University of New York Conference (SUNYAC) by a 12-to-2 tally over the final three innings to secure the victory as the visitors pounded out 13 hits and drew eight walks at the plate in the win.

Logan Hutter, Smithtown, N.Y., Smithtown West High School, led the Cobleskill "hit parade" going 3-for-5 with a walk, a home run, four runs scored and five RBI while senior shortstop
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, went 1-for-4 with a home run and a pair of sacrifice flies to knock in four runs on the day.
The Orange & Black also received significant contributions from former high school teammates senior designated hitter
Anthony Vicinanzo, Amsterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, two walks, a run scored and three RBI and from senior second baseman Christopher Kordziel, Rotterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons High School, who was 3-for-5 with a walk and a pair of runs scored.
On the mound first year right hander
Josh Gorham, Baldwinsville, N.Y., C.W. Baker High School, went 6.1 innings allowing five runs striking out four batters to earn his first collegiate victory to even his season record at 1-1 with relief help from sophomore
Andrew Jarkow, Glen Head, N.Y., North Shore High School, who worked 2.2 scoreless innings allowing only one hit.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action when they return home for a weekend North Atlantic Conference (NAC) series versus the Wildcats of Cazenovia College for a solo game on Friday April 15 at Fighting Tiger Field beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday April 16 starting at 12:00 p.m.
