Cobleskill, N.Y.: With the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play-offs fast approaching the SUNY Cobleskill men's baseball team solidified their hold on first place in the league's western division by splitting a doubleheader with the visiting Kangaroos of SUNY Canton on Saturday at Fighting Tiger Field losing the first game 7-4 and taking the second game 9-2. With the split Cobleskill moves to 19-12 overall including a 10-1 mark in league play while the Kangaroos are now 9-24 overall including a 6-7 record in NAC action.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers saw their 11-game winning streak end as the Canton overcame a 2-0 deficit by scoring seven runs over the final four innings to secure the win.
Senior second baseman Christopher Kordziel, Rotterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School/Hudson Valley Community College, celebrated senior day by going 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in the contest.
In the series finale the Cobleskill offense ripped Kangaroo pitching for nine runs on nine hits led by first year catcher
Logan Hutter, Smithtown, N.Y., Smithtown West High School, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI while second baseman Christopher Kordziel went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, a pair of stolen bases and an RBI. Senior shortstop
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, was also a factor at the plate for the home team going 2-for-3 with an RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Devin Lewis, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, improved his record to 4-2 on the year by holding the visitors to only one run over six innings striking out eight and walking only one.
The Orange & Black will next be in action on Tuesday April 26 when they host the Pioneers of Utica College at Fighting Tiger Field for a single non-league contest with first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
