SUNY Cobleskill fall athletic teams will open the 2022-23 campaign on Thursday September 1 when the Fighting Tigers: men's soccer team hosts the Trailblazers of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) at the Soccer/Lacrosse Complex with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and the women's soccer team travels to Morrisville State College to meet the Mustangs in Morrisville, N.Y. at 8:00 p.m. Then on Friday September the women's volleyball team will open play at the 2022 Greyhound Premiere Invitational hosted by Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pa. taking on Bearcats of Baruch College at 5:00 p.m. and the host Greyhounds of Moravian at 7:00 p.m. The weekend will see the men's and women's golf team's host the 2022 Fighting Tiger Fall Invitational at the Cobleskill Golf & Country Club beginning at 10:00 a.m. while the men's & women's cross country teams will open the year at the 2022 Castleton University Invitational starting at 10:30 a.m.
The Fighting Tiger athletic department announced this week that Hailee Herc has been named the Fighting Tigers' interim head coach for the 2022 season. Herc joined the program in the spring of 2022 under head coach
Scott Hill who guided the team to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division Championship in 2021. Hill, an Associate Professor in the Department of Sport & Exercise will be expanding his role in terms of program design and teaching. The Eden, N.Y. native had most recently coached at Eden High School from 2017-to-2022 compiling an 89-19 overall record including a 49-1 mark with the Raiders leading the program to five Section VI Class C Championships directing the program while simultaneously leading the Niagara Frontier Volleyball Club to USA Volleyball National Championship Tournament five times.
The Fighting Tigers women's golf team has been accepted as a member to the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) for the 2022-23 season. The conference was formed in the spring of 2019 and is recognized as a single-sport NCAA Division III conference with an automatic NCAA Championship Bid. League members include Husson University, Johnson & Wales University, Keuka College, Manhattanville College, Nazareth College, Suffolk University, SUNY Canton, SUNY Cortland, St. John Fisher College, Westfied State University and Utica College.

Austin Straub has been named the team's interim head baseball coach for the 2022-23 academic year. Straub succeeds Lance Ratchford who recently accepted the head coaching position at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. after leading Cobleskill to back-to-back North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division Titles in 2021 and 2022 while compiling a 60-56 overall record in his four seasons directing the program including a 30-17 mark versus league opponents. In his three seasons as the team's pitching coach, Straub guided the staff to a 44-34 overall record with a 6.14 ERA in 587 innings of work as Cobleskill pitchers struck out 398 batters on their way to back-to-back NAC Divisional Championships.
