Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer team was out battled in a hard-hitting defensive struggle 1-0 by the host Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 2-10-1 overall with a 1-5 record in league action while the Wildcats are now 5-7-1 overall with a 5-2 record versus league opponents.
The home team scored the contests only goal in the 27
th minute when Wildcat forward Caroline Entwistle found the back of the net to make it 1-0.
From there the game became a defensive struggle with neither team able to breech the others defense as Cobleskill put five shots on goal as compared to the Wildcats seven.
Fighting Tiger sophomore goalkeeper
Dory Gosselin, Whitehall, N.Y., Whitehall High School, turned in another solid effort in net for the Orange & Black with six saves on the afternoon.
Cobleskill will return to action on Tuesday October 14 when they host the Broncos of SUNY Delhi in conference play with kick-off slated for 4:00 p.m.
