Cobleskill, NY: The Cobleskill women's volleyball team dropped a road NAC match to SUNY Delhi in four sets (28-30, 25-27, 25-20, 21-25) on Wednesday night.
Cobleskill falls to 8-11 overall and 3-3 in the conference while the broncos of Delhi improve to 5-13 overall and 3-3 in the NAC.
Alexis Miranda (Nashua, NH/ Nashua North) led the Tigers with a game-high 18 kills. Freshman
Emma Hinze (Altenburg, Mo/ Saxon Lutheran) added nine kills and 14 digs for Cobleskill.
Baylee Kirschberg (Lindenhurst, NY/ Lindenhurst) facilitated a team-high 24 assists.
Lydia McDonough (Wappinger Falls, NY/ John Jay) led the Tigers with 20 digs and Jocelyn Haycock (Bowie, MD/ Bowie) added 14 digs.
In the first set, the Tigers jumped out to a 5-2 lead thanks to two Miranda kills. The Broncos flipped the momentum and built a 17-10 lead of their own. The Tigers trailed 14-20 before mounting a comeback to tie the game at 24-24. The duo of Miranda and Smart played a major role in the late game surge. Both teams battled back and forth, but the Broncos won the first set 30-28.
The second set saw the broncos jump out to an early lead 10-5. The Tigers once again clawed their way back into the game and tied it at 23-23. Freshman
Hallie Gasner (Middleburgh, NY/Middleburgh) and Miranda each made game tying kills to keep the Tigers alive in the set. With everything tied at 25-25, the Broncos took advantage of good team defense and closed out the set 27-25.
The third set saw a highly competitive and evenly matched beginning with the score tied 8-8 in the early stages. The Fighting Tigers used 7-2 run to gain some separation and extended that lead to 23-16. Cobleskill used that momentum to close out the set 25-20.
Both teams had the lead in the beginning of the fourth set before the Broncos claimed a 13-12 lead. Delhi then used a 4-0 run to extend their lead to 18-14. A kill from Eva Norris (Wolcott, NY/ Noth Rose-Wolcott) and attack error by Delhi brought the Tigers to within two points, 20-22, but that was as close as Cobleskill would get. Delhi closed out the match 25-21 for the win.
The Tigers lost the kill battle 44-47 to Delhi, but held the advantage in hitting percentage with .123 to Delhi's .094 and committed less turnovers 22-29 than the broncos. Both teams finished with

st as they travel to SUNY Morrisville for a NAC tri-match. Their first game is at 11:00 a.m. against Morrisville followed by a 1:00 p.m. against SUNY Poly.
