Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's cross country team posted a team total of 59 points to run to a second place finish in a 10-team field at the 2023 SUNY Poly Wildcat Weekend Classic hosted by the SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Saturday at the Wildcat's campus cross country course.
The Fighting Tigers were led by senior
Nick Logan, Queensbury, N.Y., Queensbury High School, who placed fourth overall in the 76-runner field by covering the 8000-meter course in a time of 27:34.2 and sophomore
Nik Recore, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who finished in seventh place with a time of 28:19.1.
The Cobleskill scoring was rounded out by the triumvirate of sophomore
Vladamire Sheehan, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School, who placed 14
th in a time of 29:17.8, sophomore
Jacob Rhinesmith, Sommerset, N.J., Nation Ford High School (S.C.), who finished 16
th in 29:25.1 and first-year
Aidan Smedstad, Athens, N.Y., Coxsackie-Athens High School, who placed 20
th overall in a season best time of 29:54.3.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Saturday October 7 when they travel to Clinton, N.Y. to for the 2023 Hamilton College Invitational hosted by the Continentals on their campus course beginning at 10:00 a.m.
