Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team retuned to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Friday evening out battling the visiting Badgers of Vermont State University (VTSU)-Johnson by an 87-77 margin. With the victory the Fighting Tigers move to 12-8 overall including a 7-2 record versus league opponents while the Badgers fall to 3-17 overall with a 2-8 mark in conference play.
In a game that featured 11 ties and 14 lead changes the Fighting Tigers and Badgers were tied at 77-77 with 3:11 left in regulation when Cobleskill went on a 10-0 run to close out the contest and secure the victory.
The Cobleskill perimeter players proved to be the difference in the game with sophomore guard
Kobe Long, Rochester, N.Y., McQuaid Jesuit High School, scoring a game high of 25 points to go with six rebounds, and four assists with senior point guard
Andre Starks, Rochester, N.Y., Fairport High School/Corning Community College, filling the box score with 11 points, nine assists, eight rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot. Sophomore swingman
Jeremy Rosario, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School, also played a major role in the victory with 19 points, three steals and a blocked shot.
Cobleskill will close out the weekend of NAC action on Saturday January 27 when the host the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton at the Iorio Gymnasium with tip-off set for 1:00 p.m.
