Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team continued their drive towards the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Tournament Western Division's top seed as the Fighting Tigers extended their current winning streak to nine games by downing the host Wildcats of the SUNY Polytechnic Institute 76-53 in league action. With the victory the Fighting Tigers continue to lead the NAC Western Division with a 19-1 overall record including a 10-0 mark in conference action while the Wildcats fall to 5-14 overall including a 4-4 record in NAC play with the loss.
After holding a 35-31 lead at half-time the Fighting Tigers took control of the contest in the second half by holding the Wildcats to only 22 points while scoring 41 points of their own to put the contest away.
The Cobleskill defense once again provided the spark needed to secure the win forcing 24 Wildcat turnovers on the evening and holding the home team to only 19-of-55 from the floor, 34.5%, on the night. The Orange & Black also held a decisive advantage on the glass out rebounding the home team by a 45-to-27 margin.

Logan Thayne, Hoosick Falls, N.Y., Hoosick Falls High School, who each posted double/doubles as Walker scored a game high of 22 points to go with 10 rebounds, seven steals and three assists with Thayne hitting for 18 points, 11 rebounds and a blocked shot. Junior guard
Taylor Meacham, Berne, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, also hit for double figures in scoring with 12 points along with three rebounds.

Sierra Goodson, Amsterdam, N.Y., Amsterdam High School, also contributed to the victory with May scoring six points, pulling down seven rebounds, passing out three assists and blocking two shots and Goodson scoring six points along with sophomore center
Emily Satterday, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, who scored five points and taking down three rebounds in a reserve role.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Friday, February 2 when they host the Wildcats of Bryant & Stratton College-Buffalo for an afternoon non-league contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
