Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team ended their season on Saturday afternoon losing to the visiting Eagles of Husson University in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship Game for the conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament by an 80-70 tally at Cobleskill's Iorio Gymnasium. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers fall to 17-11 overall while the Eagles improve to 23-5 on the year.
In a physical contest that saw the Fighting Tigers and the Eagles battle for the full 40 minutes as Cobleskill trailed by seven at the half but hurt themselves with 17 turnovers and a 6-for-23, 26.1%, shooting performance from beyond the three-point line.
Sophomore guard
Kobe Long, Rochester, N.Y., McQuaid Jesuit High School, was the game's leading scorer with 20 points to go with four rebounds, and three assists while senior center
Markel Jenkins, Elmira, N.Y., Elmira High School/Corning Community College, posted a double/double with 12 points and 19 rebounds along with three assists.
The Fighting Tigers also received strong showings from senior guard
Iziah Pigott, Brooklyn, N.Y., Adams Street Academy/Dutchess Community College, with 11 points, eight rebounds and four assists and from senior guard
Andre Starks, Rochester, N.Y., Fairport High School/Corning Community College, with nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.
