Annandale-on Hudson, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team traveled to Bard College on Monday afternoon dropping a 3-2 decision to the host Raptors in non-conference action. With the loss the Fighting Tigers fall to 0-3 overall on the year while the Raptors are now 1-0 to open the season.
The Fighting Tigers trailed 3-0 going into the ninth inning when junior catcher
Chris Champlin, Jefferson, N.Y., South Kortright High School, walked advanced to third on a double by sophomore third baseman
Jesus Sarda, Colonie, N.Y., Colonie High School, and scored when the Raptors misplayed a relay throw with Sarda advancing to third.
After senior pinch hitter
Anthony Vicinanzo, Amsterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons High School, flied out to left field, Sarda scored on a balk to make it 3-2 with sophomore pinch hitter Logan Firment, Andes, N.Y., South Kortright High School, at the plate. However, Firment went down on strikes to end the contest and give the Raptors the victory.
The Fighting Tiger offense struggled with Raptor pitching throughout the afternoon as the home team limited them to only five hits on the day while recording 16 strikeouts of Cobleskill hitters.

Jesus Sarda was 1-4 with a double and a run scored while
Chris Champlin went 1-for-3 with a run scored to lead the Orange & Black.
Cobleskill is next scheduled to be in action on Saturday March 2 when they travel to Farmingdale, N.Y. for a non-league doubleheader versus the host Rams of Farmingdale State College at 2:00 p.m.
