SUNY Cobleskill Baseball Falls in NAC Championship Game to Husson University

Fighting Tiger Baseball Drops 9-1 Decision to Husson University in NAC Championship Game



 
Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team closed their 2024 campaign on Saturday afternoon losing to the Eagles of Husson University in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament Championship Game hosted by Cobleskill at Fighting Tiger Field. With the loss the Fighting Tigers close the year at 18-23 overall while the Eagles will await their seeding and location for the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament with a 23-10 overall record.
 
The Fighting Tigers trailed 4-1 in the seventh inning when the Eagles erupted for four runs to take an 8-1 lead from which they never looked back as eight Cobleskill pitchers could not keep Husson in check.
 
Junior second baseman Stephen Tejada, Queens, N.Y., High School for Construction Technologies, went 2-for-4 on the afternoon with a run scored while senior shortstop David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School/Herkimer Community College, was 1-for-3 with a double and a pair of stolen bases on the day. Senior designated hitter Matthew Snyder, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, was also a factor at the plate going 1-for-3 with a walk.
 
Three Fighting Tiger players were selected to the 2024 NAC All-Tournament Team for their efforts during the week: senior pitcher Jason Treffiletti, Cohoes, N.Y., Shaker High School, senior Samuel Gutierrez, Bayside, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, and senior shortstop/third baseman David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School/Herkimer Community College,
