Despite the final score, Cobleskill controlled much of the game, holding the advantage in total shots (18-7), shots on target (8-4), and corner kicks (5-3).
The Tigers wasted no time getting on the board, taking a 1-0 lead in the third minute when Bryant bent a corner kick straight into the top corner—a highlight-reel finish and her second goal of the season. The Owls responded in the 21st minute, leveling the match at 1-1. Cobleskill continued to press forward through the rest of the half, generating several looks at goal, but the score remained even heading into halftime.
The second half saw the Tigers continue to control possession and tempo, peppering the UMPI defense with chances. However, the Owls' keeper turned away multiple efforts to keep the game tied. UMPI capitalized in the 62nd minute when Abby Doughty scored the go-ahead goal off a corner kick, and later added an insurance tally in the 87th minute from the penalty spot to seal a 3-1 result.
