2025 SUNYAC XC CHAMPS

Cobleskill Set for SUNYAC Cross Country Championship Debut

Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2025 SUNYAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 1, hosted by Plattsburgh State. The league's 12 member institutions will take to the trails at Rugar Woods, with the men's 8K race beginning at 11 a.m. and the women's 6K to follow at noon.

The Fighting Tigers enter their first-ever SUNYAC Championship on a high note following impressive performances at the Western New England Invitational and the SUNY Delhi Bronco Classic. At Delhi, senior Nik Recore (Peru, NY) and sophomore Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) both claimed individual titles to lead their respective teams.

Head Coach Zach Haskin expressed enthusiasm about this milestone for the program.

"It's exciting to head into our first SUNYAC cross country championship," said Haskin. "For us, we're treating it as another meet that's going to be held at a high level. After competing in SUNYAC track championships, we understand the standard that's expected, and we know what level we need to be at."

Haskin credited both teams for their steady development throughout the fall and believes they are ready for the challenge.

"There's a subtle roar of excitement building within our group," he said. "For our captain, Nik Recore, this is a homecoming meet - it's his course. We're excited to see him push himself and compete hard. The team has progressed perfectly this year and fully trusted the process from summer training through the entire season."

On the women's side, Haskin is eager to see how the young squad performs on the SUNYAC stage.

"We're very excited to see what our women's team can do collectively," he said. "Gabrielle Waite will be at the forefront setting the tone, but our time gap from one through five has really tightened up
