Cobleskill Extends Home Streak to 29 with Wire-to-Wire 72–42 Win Over Delhi

Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team continued its dominance inside the Iorio Gymnasium on Friday night, extending its home winning streak to 29 games with a 72-42 North Atlantic Conference victory over SUNY Delhi.

Hannah Bonczkowski (Gilbertsville, NY) paced the Tigers with a game-high 15 points, marking the fourth time this season she has led the team in scoring. She added four rebounds, two steals, and a block while shooting 5-of-11 from the floor, 2-of-4 from three, and a perfect 3-of-3 at the line. Zaylee Ramos (Worcester, MA) recorded a strong double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while first-year guard Kate Hadwen (Fair Haven, VT) continued her steady play with 13 points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals on an efficient 5-of-10 shooting performance. Mady Victorin (Menands, NY) added 13 points, four rebounds, and a block, Kayleigh Bryant (Schenevus, NY) pulled down nine rebounds, and Jaiyla Colon (Worcester, MA) filled the stat sheet with seven points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block.

Cobleskill controlled the game on both ends of the floor from the opening tip. The Tigers shot 35.8 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three, and 70.4 percent from the free-throw line, while their defensive pressure held Delhi to just 23.7 percent shooting overall and 21.4 percent from deep. Cobleskill won the battle on the glass, 53-40, held a 34-18 edge in points in the paint, and forced 24 turnovers that turned into 24 points. The Tigers' bench was a major factor, outscoring the Broncos 40-24.

Cobleskill set the tone early, jumping out to a 10-2 lead in the opening minutes after a Bonczkowski fastbreak layup. Victorin followed with a finish off a feed from Alyssa Martin (Castleton, NY) to push the lead to 12-2. Delhi scored late in the quarter, but the Tigers took a 12-4 advantage into the second.

The Broncos briefly cut the deficit to one possession early in the second quarter, but Cobleskill responded with a decisive run. A Hadwen three-pointer, assisted by Victorin, sparked the surge as the Tigers rebuilt an eight-point cushion. Cobleskill stretched the margin to 27-14 following a 7-0 run capped by a Bonczkowski free throw, and a late layup from Sydney Delisle sent the Tigers into halftime firmly in control, 32-19.

The Tigers continued to build separation in the third quarter. Hadwen opened the half with a three-pointer, and Ramos followed with a jumper to keep Cobleskill comfortably ahead. Victorin's layup in the closing seconds of the quarter gave the Tigers their first 20-point lead, 44-24.

Cobleskill left no doubt in the fourth, pouring in 28 points to put the game out of reach. Bonczkowski scored twice on layups to extend the margin past 25, including one set up by Kyra Pence (Randolph, NY), as the Tigers cruised to the 72-42 win and preserved their lengthy home-court streak.
