Tigers Close Season on the Road at Fredonia

Fredonia, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer team closed out its 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to Fredonia in SUNYAC action.

Senior Declan McCracken (South Kortright, NY) led the Fighting Tigers' attack with two shots, including one on goal. Three goalkeepers saw action for Cobleskill. First-year Nathaniel Harrington (Walton, NY) started between the posts and made three saves while allowing just one goal over the opening 45 minutes. Fellow first-year keeper Sean Hanrahan (Elmira, NY) entered after halftime and recorded two saves over 39 minutes, while Marcus Djedji (Montvale, NJ) made his first appearance of the season and finished the final six minutes with one save.

Fredonia controlled much of the possession and finished with a 26-2 advantage in total shots and a 10-1 edge in shots on goal. The Blue Devils also held a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Harrington made his first stop of the afternoon in the seventh minute to keep the match scoreless during the early stages. Fredonia eventually found the breakthrough in the 29th minute when Dylan McAfee slipped a pass to Jackson Kuby, who finished the chance to put the hosts ahead 1-0. Cobleskill looked for an equalizer late in the half, and tested the Fredonia goalkeeper in the 39th minute, but the effort was turned away. The Tiger backline then came up with consecutive blocked shots in the 44th minute to keep the deficit at one heading into halftime.

Fredonia doubled its advantage 10 minutes into the second half when McAfee found Liam Brown off a corner kick to make it 2-0. Cobleskill continued to defend and look for opportunities to get forward, but the Blue Devils added a third goal from the penalty spot in the 67th minute before scoring again in the 82nd to close out the scoring. Djedji made his first collegiate save in the 85th minute, reacting well to tip an effort over the crossbar in the closing stages.

The match marked the end of Cobleskill's 2026 campaign, as the Fighting Tigers finished the season 1-11-3 overall and 0-7-1 in SUNYAC play.
