LEXINGTON, S.C. — The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team fell to Mitchell College, 13-4, in a non-conference game on Friday morning at Lexington County. Cobleskill finished with four runs on five hits, scoring three times in the sixth inning and once more in the eighth.
Jeffrey Gutierrez led the Tigers with a hit, a walk, and a run scored, while Cobleskill also received offensive contributions from
Ryan Lansing,
Jesus Sarda,
Tony Woodie, and
Logan Firment. The Tigers were patient at the plate, drawing five walks in the contest and adding two stolen bases.
After being held scoreless through the first five innings, Cobleskill broke through in the sixth with a three-run rally to cut into the deficit. The Tigers added another run in the eighth as they continued to battle late into the game.
Connor Mulligan made the start on the mound for Cobleskill, and
Logan Firment and
Na'eem Bornstein-Brown also saw action in relief. Defensively, the Tigers played an error-free game, with Gutierrez recording six assists at shortstop as Cobleskill turned in a clean effort in the field.
