COBLESKILL, N.Y. — The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team split a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) doubleheader with Husson on Monday afternoon, earning a 10-4 victory in Game One before dropping the second game, 7-1.
Cobleskill's offense came alive in the opener, producing 10 runs on 15 hits in one of its most complete performances of the season. The Tigers scored in five different innings and broke the game open with a six-run sixth inning.
Leading the way offensively in Game One was Jake Brazzano, who delivered a strong multi-hit performance and drove in runs during the Tigers' big middle innings. Jeffrey Gutierrez continued his steady play at the top of the lineup, reaching base multiple times, scoring runs, and helping set the tone offensively. Ryan Lansing added timely RBIs, while Tony Woodie and Logan Firment each contributed key hits to extend rallies. Korin Laurilla also played a pivotal role, reaching base and helping fuel the Tigers' sustained offensive pressure.
Cobleskill consistently strung together quality at-bats, using a mix of extra-base hits and situational hitting while capitalizing on Husson miscues to build separation late.
On the mound, Tanner Wood earned the win in Game One, delivering a solid outing and limiting Husson's opportunities while pitching with the lead.
In Game Two, the Tigers were held to one run on three hits despite early chances. Cobleskill remained within striking distance through six innings before Husson used a five-run seventh inning to secure the win.
Connor Mulligan provided a strong start in the nightcap, keeping the Tigers close and giving Cobleskill a chance to complete the sweep. The pitching staff worked effectively through the first six innings before Husson's late rally.
Across the doubleheader, Cobleskill totaled 18 hits and showed a balanced offensive approach, highlighted by contributions throughout the lineup and the ability to generate consistent pressure on the basepaths.
